Over the last decade, the research on purpose has been prolific and compelling. When it comes to performance, purpose work is fiscally smart. BlackRock Venture Capitalist, a premier private equity and venture capital firm, now only invests in companies that have a clear purpose.
On Jan.16, 2018, BlackRock Chief Executive Officer Larry Fink sent a letter to his peers addressing both the positive financial plus societal impact of having both a long-term strategy along and social purpose.
Purpose-oriented professionals are:
- 64% more likely to find fulfillment in their work
- 50% more likely to be in leadership positions
- 54% more likely to be promoters of their employees

Purpose-oriented individuals use their career as a means to serve others which provides them with personal fulfillment. The other two categories of workers: status-oriented and money-oriented do not receive personal fulfillment.
Return on Investment goes beyond financial gain or loss; it encompasses everything from fostering human connection to finding the right balance between work and play.
